Former Barona Chairwoman Lisa Welch-Scalco provided the inspiration for this Shiimull Mata’yuum (clan gathering) website as a means to encourage the use of native traditions and language to build nurturing family relationships. This website, which is exclusively available to Barona Tribal member families, features a variety of stories and activities for you to do with your young children. Additional stories and activities will continue to be added to this website to support fun cultural learning and family interaction.
